The NOK Benefits Trust was established on September 15, 2018 by overwhelming approval vote of NOK shareholders. All NOK shareholders at the time of NOK Benefits Trust inception automatically became beneficiaries of the Trust. To take advantage of tax savings offered through the new Benefits Trust, all Special Distributions, Elder’s Benefits and Scholarships will be paid from the NOK Benefits Trust.
For future planning, shareholders are reminded that NOK Benefits Trust beneficiaries are required to transfer their NOK Benefits Trust units at the same time and in the same quantities as NOK shares they choose to transfer. Please contact the NOK office with any questions you may have.
In September of 2002, NOK shareholders overwhelmingly approved the creation of the Natives of Kodiak Shareholder Permanent Fund Trust, which was subsequently funded with assets from the NOK Shareholders Fund. The Trust’s original 2002 Agreement was amended by Beneficiary vote on June 30, 2018.
The NOK Shareholder Permanent Fund Trust currently pays quarterly distributions to Trust beneficiaries in March, June, September, and November of each year.
All NOK shareholders at the time of Trust inception automatically became beneficiaries of the NOK Shareholder Permanent Fund Trust.
