22 March 2016 - The Natives of Kodiak Board of Directors is pleased to announce that it has authorized a distribution from the Permanent Fund Trust in the amount of $2.00 per unit; the distribution will be made on 31 March 2016.  If you believe there to be any questions or issues regarding the designated bank account or mailing address to which your distribution should be deposited or mailed, please contact the NOK office at 907-486-3606, or, as soon as possible.

16 February 2016 - This year's application periods have opened for both the Cecil Sholl Memorial Scholarship and the Neil Sargent Career Development Scholarship.  Completed applications for the Cecil Sholl Scholarship must be postmarked by 15 Apr 2016, or delivered to the NOK offices in Kodiak by 5:00 PM on 15 Apr 2016.  Applications for the Neil Sargent Scholarships will be accepted until this year's funding is exhausted. Further instructions are included in the applications: 2016 Cecil Sholl Scholarship App; 2016 Neil Sargent Career Dev Scholarship App. Good luck to all applicants!

2 February 2016 - The Great Lakes Indian Fish and Wildlife Commission (GLIFWC), headquartered in Odanah, WI, will offer as many as 10 internships in the summer of 2016.  While there likely will be preference given to members of Tribes that belong to GLIFWC, other Native Americans have been awarded internships in the past.  Internships are not relegated to the technical fields, but include such things as Administration, Enforcement, Public Relations, etc.  If you are interested, the linked document 2016 Internship Opportunity describes this year's program.  If you need additional information, after having read the announcement, Irene Lind can submit requests for information directly to the Commission's representative.  Irene can be reached at, or 907-486-3606.

30 November 2015 - The Special Dividend, payable today, 30 Nov 15, is $13.50 per share; the Trust Dividend, also payable today, is $2.00 per unit.

9 November 2015 - Natives of Kodiak, Inc. will showcase the entire Kupol Collection of original oil paintings of Russian Orthodox churches in Alaska.  This will be the first time that the entire collection will be displayed at one time and place, which will be on 16 November 2015, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, in the offices of the Afognak Native Corporation.  Details are included in the Press Release attached here: PRESS RELEASE (003) (Left click on "PRESS RELEASE", then left click on the pop-up ".../PRESS RELEASE-003.docx)

24 June 2015 - NOK's recently-acquired, original paintings of Orthodox churches throughout Alaska, now known as the "KUPOL Collection", has been opened to the public.  The display gallery is located inside the Alutiiq Center, at 215 Mission Road, Kodiak -- just go upstairs and to the right.  Current visiting hours are: Tue-Fri, 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM.  Please contact the NOK office, at 907-486-3606, with any questions about the gallery.  We look forward to seeing you!

27 March 2015 - NOK is pleased to announce that it will make a Permanent Fund Trust distribution of $2.00 per unit, on 31 March 2015.

26 February 2015 - NOK is pleased to announce the opening of the application period for its 2015 scholarship awards.  The Cecil Sholl Memorial Scholarship (NOK Scholarship Application 2015), is awarded to a full-time student at a nationally-accredited university, college, or vocational school, while the Neil Sargent Career Development Scholarship (NOK Career Development Scholarship 2015) is awarded to an applicant who is seeking non-degree-producing education/training/experience to enhance their employability and advancement in their job.  Use the above links to go to the respective applications, and note that, while applications for the Neil Sargent Scholarship will be accepted until the funds are exhausted, applications for the Cecil Sholl Scholarship must be postmarked or hand-delivered to the NOK office not later than 17 April 2015.

20 February 2015 - All NOK Shareholders must ensure that they submit a current, accurate IRS Form W-9 to the NOK office.  This form must be completed and submitted as soon as you become a Shareholder; it need only be submitted once, unless your status changes in any way described in the form's instructions.  You can download the W-9 as a printable pdf form, here: IRS W-9 2014.  You can complete it on your computer or print it and complete it by hand.  Once you have affixed your signature, you can scan and e-mail the signed document to, or you can mail the signed form to Natives of Kodiak, Inc., ATTN: Form W-9, 215 Mission Road, Suite 201, Kodiak, AK  99615.  If you have not provided an accurate IRS Form W-9 to the NOK office at the time of dividend disbursement, you might be subject to backup withholding -- which means that you will not receive the full amount of your dividend, and will have to claim the balance on your tax return for that year.

If you want to begin, or to change, your Direct Deposit options, please follow these instructions.

15 January 2015 - Your Dividend and 2014 Taxes--You will not receive an IRS Form 1099 for your 2014 Dividend(s).  Instead, this form IRS Form 8937, NOK, dtd 14Jan15-- will be available if you or your accountant need it for tax return purposes.  If you need further explanation, please call Audrey, in our Anchorage office, at 907-569-9130.
