IN REMEMBRANCE OF NATIVES OF KODIAK, INC. LONGTIME BOARD MEMBER, MARGARET ROBERTS

On behalf of the Natives of Kodiak, Inc. (NOK) Board of Directors, shareholders, and staff, we honor the exceptional life of longtime Board
member Margaret Agnguarta (“One Who Dances”) Roberts and offer our deepest condolences to the Roberts’ family and friends as we mourn our
esteemed and dedicated Board member’s recent and unexpected passing.

In addition to fourteen years of NOK Board service that included membership on the NOK Scholarship, Nomination and Lands Committees, at the time of her passing Margaret also served as a valued Trustee of the Natives of Kodiak Shareholder Permanent Fund Trust and the NOK Benefits Trust.

In 2018, the Alaska Federation of Natives awarded Margaret its Hannah Paul Solomon ‘Woman of Courage’ Award in recognition of a life dedicated to tribal advocacy, preservation of the Alutiiq language and perpetuation of the cultural traditions of Kodiak Island’s Alutiiq people. A founder of Kodiak’s Alutiiq
Dancers, Margaret leaves behind a strong legacy that includes both sound Corporate oversight and tremendous benefit of shared cultural knowledge through the generations.

When asked a few years ago if there were any wisdom or advice that she would offer at this stage of her life, Margaret said, “Be proud of your Native culture, who you are, and where you come from.”

As we reflect on Margaret’s innumerable contributions to Natives of Kodiak, its shareholders and Kodiak’s Alutiiq people we are honored with having benefitted from Margaret’s wisdom, kindness and steadfast commitment. Her gifts will not be forgotten.
